Picking Tops and Bottoms with the Tick Index

Tim Ord has discovered that the Tick Index, which is carried by most live intraday quote services, accurately forecasts market tops and bottoms and indicates most buy and sell levels. His method uses intraday uptick and downtick readings of the NYSE to forecast tops and bottoms in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and to generate buy and sell signals that span one to 10 days. Tim looks for a double low in the DJIA with extreme downticks at both low points, using the second extremely negative tick index reading as a buy signal. Similarly, he uses a double top with extreme upticks at both high points, with the second high uptick reading as his sell signal.
